Compact Pocket Trauma Kit with SWATT Tourniquet and Z-Fold Dressing

The Pocket Trauma Kit, also known as the original Patrol Officer Pocket Trauma Kit, has a relevant back story and is great for anyone who wants to be prepared with tools to stop major bleeding. The story behind this kit began at the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Conference in San Marcos, TX, when it was discovered that there was a need for all officers to have some sort of self-aid / buddy aid kit when entering the hot zone. However, budget cuts at the time made it cost prohibitive for individual patrol officers to have basic trauma kits that we offer at Rescue Essentials. After three rounds of modifications based on input from NTOA members who tested the kit, we offered the Patrol Officer Pocket Trauma Kit (POPTK), also known as the Pocket Trauma Kit, the Rescue Essentials Downed Officer Kit, Wildland Fire Personal First Aid Kit, and the Rescue Essentials Bleeding Control Public Access Nylon Kit. The POPTK includes a SWATT tourniquet, a Z-fold gauze dressing, a pair of nitrile gloves, and 3 ft of duct tape. These items are vacuum sealed and can be easily and quickly removed, allowing rapid treatment. The SWATT tourniquet is cost efficient and effective, especially in a buddy aid situation, and can also be used as an impressive compression bandage when combined with the Z-fold dressing. This kit is NTOA tested and recommended, and was developed in conjunction with ALERRT.
